An experience nurse and community mental health practitioner saw the need for tailored evidence based well being mental health services for teens and to inform community engagement, Mental Health delivers solutions to the most challenging problems our kids face.

Changing direction

Keri the Director at Mental Health HQ ran a  small business already delivering a first aid and safeguarding training to individuals and organisation. However, as a nurse she had noticed the continuing pressure on peoples mental health, particularly young people and was driven to action. After completing her training as a Psychotherapist specialising in trauma. Keri really wanted to find a way to support people before they reached crisis points and also to be able to offer services to those that most needed who were often vulnerable and did not have the ability to pay.

As a successful small business owner in the private sector, Clare focused one-to-one strategic support of the voluntary sector.

After modelling the unique business proposition a CIC seemed the best model but Keri did not have a co-director. Clare helped her work through the options and helped her identify people who had skills but also shared her vision.

Clare worked with Keri to create her portfolio of projects and to develop a fundraising plan to be able to deliver these alongside supporting her to develop all the elements of a community business delivering services to vulnerable clients. Clare also gave guidance on evaluation and project management.

Keri was able to set up her CIC quite quickly and has now received funding to provide specialist support to young people and victims of trauma and delivering programmes across London.
