Kids Against Racism was an organic grassroots campaign that emerged after the death of George Floyd in 2020. What begun as a campaign developed into a valuable child led community campaigning and education organisation with a bright and exciting future.

Campaigning for change

During 2020 many people wanted to do things in reaction to George Floyds murder. A group of women came together to promote antiracist behaviours amongst the next generation. They called themselves Greenwich Kids Against Racism and held events to promote anti racism amongst children. In 2021 they decided they wanted to take this further and had many great ideas but didn’t know where to start. The met with Clare our Business Development consultant and she supported them to structure what they wanted to do into clear ideas for projects, develop a fundraising strategy and supported them to develop a coherent recognised structure for their emergent organisation.

They went on to firstly become an unincorporated organisation which allowed them to submit their first funding application to Awards for All.  Their project '360 Letters' has been an amazing success although they have had to face the challenges of starting an organisation from scratch, alongside delivering a programme, whilst still working in their current employment roles and busy home lives. Clare supported with project delivery and evaluation advice and how to manage the finances of the project.
