Empowering you to build our communities

We are a CIC in Woolwich that supports marginalised young people aged 12-25, including those from
BME communities, refugees, asylum seekers, and low-income families in the Greenwich Borough, by
providing skills that enhance wellbeing, promote self-employment, and guide career projection.
Supporting young peoples wellbeing
Pretty Hearts has held over 16 free hair braiding sessions for young people in Woolwich, at both the community centre and Woolwich Library. Many of the participants were NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training). Parents from local schools helped us during these sessions, and the Woolwich Community Centre gave us free space to use. They also provided snacks and drinks for the young people. Private individuals helped by delivering training materials for free, and young people from the church volunteered to take pictures and videos. They also mentored the participants. With all this support, our workshops have been successful, and we plan to continue working with the community to help young people gain important skills and confidence.
We are incredibly grateful to The Big Red Kick: MOMO Business Coaching for their tremendous support in refining our business plan and helping us run our organization more smoothly. Their tailored programs and workshops, especially the Budget for Beginners Breakfast session, came at just the right time and gave us the tools we desperately needed. The one-on-one sessions with Clare have been especially impactful, offering personalized advice and guidance that has truly made a difference. Through their expertise, they've helped us identify and overcome the root causes of our challenges, all while encouraging us to maintain a growth mindset. We’re excited and thankful to continue this journey with them, knowing we’re in great hands.
