Empowering you to build our communities
Plateful Cafe fosters community integration by connecting refugees and local people through food, art, and shared experiences. It offers monthly community dinners, catering services, and an online shop selling refugee-made products, while also hosting exhibitions to showcase refugee artwork.
Supporting growth
We strive to create a supportive environment for personal and professional integration connecting refugees
and local people through a shared love of good food.
Once a month we offer three course community dinners at various venues as well as catering for private
and public events such as birthdays, conferences, festivals and fayres. Through our Plateful online shop, at market stalls, independent local shops and at the Migration Museum we are selling jams, biscuits and condiments made by refugees from Iran and Syria, using family recipes from their home country.
Refugees from the refugee camps in Greece and other European countries have created original artworks which are being sold through exhibitions displayed at corporates, independent cafés and online.
Refugees have a wealth of knowledge, expertise and skills which can considerably enrich the local economy and society and add to the local culture. Refugees want to contribute, work and most importantly rebuild their lives after years of persecution and upheaval.
We are proud to collaborate with Big Red Kick – humanity is at it’s best when we come together and show compassion. We are currently looking for a permanent cafe space with commercial kitchen to expand on our offering. Please get in touch with any leads!
